Service Description: Point file of the locations of the Tax Assessors Handiwork, with links to the library orginal scans and the modified scans. Addresses were extracted and geocoded. Pdfs were downloaded and manipulated to display in portrait format.From Alexandria Library Special Collection"A special assessment of properties in the Old and Historic District of Alexandria, Virginia was conducted in the late 1960's. The assessment included 6000 properties and garnered highly detailed information about each property and included a photograph and schematic footprint. Other information included the number of rooms on each floor, the characteristics of kitchens and bathrooms, and the composition of the building materials used throughout.
